T bag, V, Emmy's

PB was on last night and it was quite good. That fed seems to be very smart as he is able to figure out Mike's moves so far see the elevator incident.T bag is really one nasty looking dude and kudos to the casting peeps coz he plays that part well. That thug prison guard almost blew his brains out which was surprising considering his behaviour it was amusing to see him still living with his mom.All in all it was a good episode and am glad this show is back.

V keeps on getting interesting as apparently the abducted wife of the Senator may have lived under 2 different identities. Also there seems to be more than meets the eye as the Fed in charge is starting to figure out.The senator's daughter's boyfriend appears to be bad news, I sense trouble for the girl in the near future. Not a bad episode and thankfully it comes after PB otherwise I would probably give it a pass, but I generally like finishing what I start so I will probably ride it all the way to the end.Season 3 of Nip/Tuck is out this week so that's cool I have missed this show very underappreciated in my opinion.

Emmy's were actually watchable thanks mostly to Conan. He did a great job and should host more frequently. The opening sequence was priceless.I was happy to see Jack Bauer win as he was LONG overdue.Denis Leary and Hugh Laurie should be next in line.24 also won best drama again LONG overdue.I wasn't really surprised Grey's was snubbed most new hit shows will get many nominations but rarely win, I guess you have to put in some seasons to actually break through, I could be wrong as My name is Earl won for direcion and writing beating out heavyweights like The Sopranos.Jane Kazmerek was shut out for the billionth time wow with the show ending there goes her chances unless she resurfaces on another show.Surprised to see Juilia win that was a curve ball also some others won for shows that have been cancelled which to me is just embarassing for the networks ofcourse. It was entertaining although I would have liked to see nominations for Deadwood, The Wire, Nip/Tuck and The Shield.Have a good one.

Prison Break, Vanished

Prison Break is back! about time too as summer was really sucking big time tv wise. The cons are still trying to evade capture and are now in some city with civilian clothes, in a shocker linc's ex gf was gunned down trying to tell all that the President's brother was still alive. That FBI dude is the same dude who was on the now cancelled Invasion so he bounced back quickly and appears to be quite sharp as he is able to figure out what Mike's tattoos signify. All in all the episode was good and hope it continues to get better.

Vanished premiered after PB.It is a show about the apparent abduction of a Senator's wife and the unravelling of where she is and who she actually is! There seems to be many twists which is what may save this show as it occurs at 100mph.The lead detective is trying too hard to be Jack Bauer which becomes annoying to watch, I hope he eases up a bit.I have watched the Kidnapped pilot and its also about an abduction although Kidnapped appears to be the much better show between the two. After the first episode where the Senator's wife was abducted or was she? we start finding out that she may or may not be what everyone thought she was.I will probably follow this show as it comes after PB but I don't have high hopes of it surviving long especially once the other networks unleash their shows. If I was grading I would give this show a B.Two posts in one day am en fuego!! enjoy the Emmy's full rant on Monday am sure adios!.

Annapolis, Tom Cruise

This movie was quite good in my opinion.I always enjoy these type of films.Jordana brewster is scorching as always phew!.This movie is about a guy who tries out for the navy and the trials and triblulations that go along with it.Tyrese I must say played his role very well.James Franco is a good actor too bad he is rarely seen unless its the Spiderman sequels. The Emmys are tomorrow and am looking forward to them.Am amazed that Hugh Laurie wasn't nominated and Lost wasn't as well.Should be interesting to see what develops, it will be atleast entertaining with Conan, he is a funny dude so he should entertain us as the show drags on for 3 hours.Would have been interesting if Tom Cruise was presenting an award considering the very public divorce between him, his partner and Paramount.

Speaking of Cruise I really don't think he is nuts as many seem to believe. If he chooses to believe in Scientology that's his perogative, the jumping on Oprah's couch was startling but what's wrong with a little excitement at being in love?.It is amusing how when he chooses to express his feelings to the public they treat him like he has gone of the deep end especially considering how fiercely private he was before Tomkat. The funny thing about his split with Paramount is he now stands to make even MORE money with other financers which I find amusing.Lets face it they both made each other boatloads of cash so for Redstone to run his mouth that the split had to do with Tom's actions is weak very weak.Infact Redstone may have cost Paramount many millions in splitting with Cruise.Lets not forget Cruise is not only the biggest star here he is also a massive star worldwide where they don't care about Tomkat like people here.Personally I will watch any movie he does that interests me now I had a crush for Katie Holmes so with him hooking up with her AND having a baby was mildly annoying I still enjoy his movies. All eyes will be on Tom's next movie. Now I disagree with what he said about anti depression drugs that is info he should have kept to himself attacking Brooke Shields was not a good idea and ranting to Matt Lauer was also poor judgement. If there is anything I find annoying it's celebrities trying to tell you what is not good for you and what is, I prefer to make my own decisions thank you very much.Yes that goes for you too Oprah.

Tsotsi

Finished up The Wire which was amazingly good as usual. This is definitely the most underated show on tv.If you haven't watched the show I strongly advise you do so IMMEDIATELY from season one to present, you will not be disappointed.

I watched Tsotsi which is a foreign flick from South Africa that won best foreign flick at the oscars. This movie is about a hoodlum who struggles to deal with poverty and taking care of an infant who he acquires in an interesting way.The story, cinematograghy and score are top notch and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.I highly recommend you give it a shot.

Hard to believe summer is almost over and we can start getting shows back on air after the constant drivel of reruns and reality crap.Only thing I have watched on tv so far has been Hells Kitchen which was actually quite entertaining,Chef Ramsey is quite a character, this is a much better show than that clunker The Restaurant.Oh and re runs of Grey's Anatomy which are actually watchable, normally I loathe re runs but not of this show.

With all the garbage on tv Fox is swooping in to save the day with the season premiere of Prison Break and series premiere of Vanished which might actually do so after the reviews it has gotten.Ah I forgot to mention I watched the pilots of studio 60 and Kidnapped and was very impressed with both more so with Studio 60, Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme are very good producers and if the show is as good as it's first episode NBC will have a hit.Kidnapped was also good however the problem the show faces is at some point people will get tired of the kidnapped kid and will want him to either be found or killed.Delroy Lindo is a good actor and Dana delany is actually quite beautiful, used to think it was all about her sis Kim but she is quite the looker as well.Well that's all folks cya tomorrow as I will probably review Vanished In my opinion ofcourse not that it matters anyway. My uncle passed away last week so RIP.

The Wire

Yo, am currently watching the 3rd season of The Wire. This show is one of the best shows on tv period, both network and cable. It is right up there with The Sopranos, The Shield, 24 no doubt about it.The drug trade on the streets of Baltimore is still hot property, with new cats fighting for dominance and ownership of corners. That new cat Marlow seems to be a baller although Avon is now out of jail all hell is about to break loose.Stringer has been handling biz quite well expanding into real estate.Avon may have a problem with Stringer in the future as Stringer is much more of a business man than Avon who is straight gangster. The amount of dough being made by these guys is sick, sick, sick. This is one of my favourite shows and I was happy to hear it is still going on and not being cancelled like Deadwood which I disagree with completely.HBO has a good show in Deadwood as there is nothing like it on tv.They seem to be putting all their eggs on Entourage which is a mistake especially with The Sopranos coming to an end next year.Showtime will soon be kicking their ass as they have two good shows now Brotherhood, Weeds infact I think FX kicks their ass anyway with The Shield, Nip/Tuck and Rescue me, this trio of shows OWNS most of the shows on tv today.Too bad Shield is ending after next season, don't know about Nip but hope it continues, speaking of Nip I am eagerly awaiting season 3 this month.

If you are or havn't watched The Wire you are missing out big time, IMMEDIATELY go get season one, you will be hooked I assure you.Have a good day peeps.

Still alive.....

To the one person who reads this blog am still alive and kicking.Haven't watched that many interesting movies or tv series.Finished up deadwood season 2 and must say this is a very good, well acted show, too bad its coming to an end soon.I watched a few independent flicks like Baran, Osama they were meh.The stories were solid but they never moved me in any way, shape or form.Normally if a movie or series kicks ass I normally can't wait to blog about it the next day so the fact that I haven't blogged anything in some time tells you I didn't have anything good to report.I have been watching Hells Kitchen, Windfall, Kyle XY and re-runs of Grey's Anatomy. Now am not much of a re - run fan but I find myself still enjoying the re- runs of Grey's, just goes to show what a great show and what quality writing and acting it has.

M.night finally had a dud with Lady in the Water, he had been rolling along well with $100m plus boxoffice movies but it seems his latest is a dud, atleast according to the masses.I will mos def watch it though as I like his movies and personally think The Village got a bad rap.It would be interesting to see if he could do a show on tv like a drama of some sort that would be fun for us fans am sure. He is a big time director and may see tv as child's play although I disagree, he could do a show on FX or HBO that could be of some quality am sure.Oh another reason for my absence was the insane heat that scorched LA for over 20 days, it was very, very uncomfortable to spend long hours infront of a computer so that's one of my excuses:).

Curb your Enthusiasm and The Wire are out in the next week so that is some quality stuff right there.Am sure I will be raving on how The Wire OWNS shortly after completing watching it.I am a member of Netflix so I will be able to see the first episodes of 2 new NBC shows, Kidnapped and Studio 60, they better be good cause if they suck I will probably give them a pass.NBC badly needs some hits ever since friends ended its been all down hill, no dramas of any substance except the same ol Law and Order, ER, and the finito West Wing.I used to watch NBC as my no.1 network but nowadays I only glance there for Windfall and the addictive Deal or no Deal, Las Vegas is a good show but it will get buried in oblivion on friday nights.Friday nights are just the worst for a show to be scheduled. Most people are out and about so the best they will hope for is they don't die a slow death a la third watch.Oh I also watched the very boring confessions of a dangerous mind, the movie had such top talent but it dragged on and I almost fell asleep.

Hard to believe that Prison Break will be back in a few weeks, seems like yesterday when the season finale aired. This is actually a good move by Fox as it enables them to get a head start on the other networks and also try and launch Vanished which airs after Break.Upon seeing the billion shows coming this fall, its amusing to realise that more than half will not make it.Many, many will be yanked after a few weeks if no ratings materialise.Makes you wonder when you see tv stars whining about money when they should actually be thanking us the viewers for keeping their show on air and making them stars! This is why these stars should not be uppity if asked for autographs cause its those fans who are watching your mug every week, the least you can do is show the fans some appreciation for enabling your career to flourish and get you those big pay checks.

In other news the middle east is turning into a hell hole with the continous fighting between those Hezbolla thugs and Israel not mentioning those ballsy Iranians and Syrians just addinig fuel to the fire.Kim jon il must be going nuts as he is not in the headlines where he likes to be, maybe he will test a few missles to get everyone's attention again. The biggest poker tournament ever is currently underway and a friend of mine Johan did quite well and poketed over $30k so congrats m8 you pwned them all, next time they will all pay!.Anyway just wanted to check in to the one reader that may have wondered what happened to da boy, still around am sure I will be back to day by day post mode soon until then have a good week all.
