More Deadwood, Paradise Now

Hiya folks! hope all is well with ya'll.Finised up Deadwood season 1, it was very good and am now dismantling season 2 funny thing was I thought I would not like this series but so far so good too bad its coming to an end soon.In other news season 3 of The Wire is coming out next month FINALLY! been waiting forever to watch it.I also watched Paradise Now, its a movie about 2 suicide bombers who must say goodbye to their families and go and blow themselves up in Israel.The movie makes you see the plight of Palestinians.I enjoyed it,the ending might annoy you though.Otherwise that's all that's been happening,also been enjoying the first few episodes of Greys Anatomy which is phat.Damn it's hot here in la have a COOL day all.

Flight plan, Deadwood

Hope you all had a good holiday.I watched Flight plan and Deadwood last week.Flight plan stars Jodie Foster and is about a child disappearing on a plane and the question of whether or not she was actually on the plane.Jodie gives a good performance as always.She seems to like films in which she gets to kick some ass which is nice to see and also works for he as evidenced by the boxoffice of Panic Romm and now Flight plan.All in all it was an action packed movie although Panic Room was better.

Deadwood is a series I approached with caution.I normally have a knack of picking some good series to watch and I rarely go wrong.However recently I hit a wall when I attempted to watch Dead like Me which was a show on showtime.I just didn't get into the show and felt nothing for that girl.I find that if I like the main character of a series or characters it hooks me in and am able to dig in and enjoy the series.If I don't feel that connection with the main character or characters in the first episode it's curtains for that series for me.Deadwood had gotten some buzz a few years ago together with some awards so I was interested however it was a western and I haven't watched a western flick or series in years.However after getting used to the 1800 yrs theme I have come to like the occupants of Deadwood.Al who runs the GYM salon is quite a character and deserved the emmy or globe that he won.The series is graphic, funny and dramatic which makes for the ingredients of a good show.I had told myself that I would watch season one and if it sucked I wouldn't bother with season two, however I will most definitely be watching season two.

The world cup just ended and what a ride it was.Brazil shockingly didn't proceed to the finals as I expected.France after looking horrible in the early rounds woke up finally and made the finals.The final game was very enjoyable with both teams missing numorous opportunities to score leading to the useless penalty kicks which I hate as to me they are coinflips but hey you gotta crown a winner somehow.An ugly incident occured with Zidane head butting a Italian player dropping him to the grass, apparently there were some words exchanged however Z should have kept himself together not only is he the captain and has all the experience but also this was his last game for his country and it is sad to watch one of the great soccer players in the world go out like that.The Italians made all their kicks and celebrated their victory in 14yrs congrats to the AZURRI.

Anger Management, Spanglish, Firewall

Anger management was very amusing.Adam Sandler and Jack were hilarious.Marissa Tomei co-starred as Sandler's girlfriend and looked good as usual.Heather Graham also looked quite good, I wonder what happened to her after boogie nights and maybe From hell with Depp you never see her in too many flicks, infact the only reason I remembered her was from the failed tv show on abc which really wasn't given a chance and axed quickly.All in all the movie was very funny and would recommend it highly.

Spanglish was another Sandler flick that was also amusing but it was mostly a drama narrated by a girl who was looking to join a college.There was a hot latina playing Sandler's maid and the movie was more or less about her trying to bring up her daughter in the affluent area of los angeles.Tea Leoni plays Sandler's wife and boy is she in primo shape damn she was exercising like a freak and the results were there.I found this movie quite good, the story was very well written and the ending was not a cliche as many movies of this nature are.Another enjoyable flick go watch it now!!.

Boy its been a while since I saw Harrison Ford in any flick of substance.Firewall was about how his family is taken hostage and the thugs want him to help them steal 100 million dollars from the bank he works as he is the designer of the security software that is used there.Virgina Madsen co stars as his wife.All in all it is a nice action flick although very predictable as it nears the end.I actually only watched this flick coz I hadn't seen Ford in a reasonable flick in sometime.Watch it if you want but it's just another popcorn action flick.

In other news the world cup has been coming to an end as the final 4 are now set.Brazil managed to lay an egg and lose to the Frenchmen which sucks as I had them winning it all.Portugal continues rolling as apparently they can't lose even through penalty kicks.oh I caught the season or series premiere of a show on abc called Kyle xy looks interesting its about a teen found wandering around town naked with no idea who he is and also with no belly button.He is apparently very intelligent as he knows how to read computer code and do tests at an insane pace.The first episode was good hope they keep it up.Have a good independence day all.
