Conviction, Crash

Conviction is a new show by Dick Wolf on NBC about young prosecutors.My first impression is it is alright.Still early although being on Friday is tough considering how difficult it is to find an audience at the end of the week.The cast looks good, hot chicks, good looking guys, the stories are what will carry the show so they better have good writers or the show will be found Guilty and sentenced to cancellation.

The Oscars were on yesterday and Jon Stewart hosted quite well.I found him funny almost all the time.The show went as expected until three 6 mafia not only won an oscar for original score, but also performed.This was huge for hip hop as the academy voters are normally seen as stuffy old peeps so for them to give three 6 mafia the oscar and let them perform was probably the main thing I will remember from the oscars.Jennifer Garner almost fell which would have been amusing considering how she does her own difficult stunts on Alias.Gotta give kudos to George Clooney here is a guy who is a mega star now has an oscar but still acts like he is still languishing in ER, thats what people like about him the most, he doesn't take himself too seriously.

Crash blindsiding brokeback mountain was well deserved.I watched Crash some time ago and to this day consider it one of the best movies I have ever seen.Pity Don Cheadle couldn't be there as he was part of the producing group, probably didn't expect it to win.Just goes to show that a movie can always gain momentum at the right time and produce an upset.Altman's acceptance speech was quite good most of the time I just flip channels as the speeches are sometimes actually often long and boring but he kept me hooked all the way upto the end.That woman Dianna Osanna is quite beautiful but was so serious after winning her oscar it was too bad, smile woman you just won an Oscar! she should have taken a cue from the three 6 mafia dudes who were so elated and happy they had the audience buzzing even Jon said why isn't everybody as excited as they are? Overall I enjoyed watching the show, am a huge movie fan so this is my favourite award show.Well onto this week time for 2 hrs of 24 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..........
